Fruity Ants
A sweet treat for your formic friends. It’s my picnic and I’ll invite ants if I want to!
I gave this pattern a more ordered, regular layout to evoke the gridded pattern of your typical gingham picnic blanket. I think of this colour palette as ‘nutritious’ - I’m not sure why, but it feels right.
Design Process
I took advantage of a missing Apple pencil to create this entire pattern by hand using acrylic gouache on tracing paper. I was glad to eventually find my Apple pencil so I could add finer details like seeds and light reflections.
